Ah Blessed Top Gear

It’s really not hard to see why us fans love this show.

Top Gear Returns On June 22nd
May 1, 2008

The best show on television returns in forty-five days! I say that’s forty-five days too long! My usually-reliable source has failed me. Sorry. The show will probably return on June 22nd.

In the meanwhile, I guess you can just enjoy this old clip.

North American Stock Car Auto Racing
March 11, 2008

All these years, I’ve been putting NASCAR down because I thought it to just be a race set on a big oval.  But the truth is, I’ve been completely missing the point. NASCAR is obviously not about cornering, so then what is it about?

This clip is taken from this week’s episode of BBC’s Fifth Gear. Hearing about NASCAR from an outsider perspective rather than one from a fan probably was what helped me see the appeal of this motorsport. Which is that you just never know what’s going to happen.

This doesn’t mean I’m ever going to spend my day watching NASCAR on television. I just think it would be fun to attend a race someday.

I’ve included the second half of the segment after the break.

A Skit On Predictive Text

I found the skit to be funny so I thought I’d share it.

Planet Earth
November 11, 2007

I just saw a couple of episodes of this series on Blu-Ray and I was completely in awe. I’ve already decided on buying the series and my copy could not arrive soon enough. I am going to just devote a day to watching the whole thing. It is a beautiful documentary on life here on earth. And once, I’ve absorbed everything from the series. I’ll move on and watch the complimentary series, Blue Planet. Blue Planet only comes in DVD, but I hope that BBC would release a Blu-Ray version because I don’t think it expresses the grandeur of nature as well in such a limited resolution.

I can’t remember being so excited to learn about anything like I am for this.

The second episode of Top Gear is out and unlike the first one, it’s actually funny.  The highlights includes a feature on the new Audi R8 and a hilarious attempt to cross the English Channel in their homemade amphibious vehicles.

If you know how to use BitTorrent, you can download it here. Otherwise, hope that someone will upload it onto YouTube. It’ll be two weeks until the next episodes airs.

M3 (W4NT5 0N3)
September 25, 2007

This week’s episode of Fifth Gear featured Tiff Needell driving the new M3. I love the car! And quite possibly even more than the previous model.

I forgot how I stumbled across his webpage, but I’m glad I did. His pieces are pretty cool. The one above is actually a commission for one of my favorite shows, Top Gear.

More artwork after the break.
