It’s a cute comic strip I StumbledUpon. You can read the other strips at their website.

Mimi et Vivi

My dear friend has just opened shop over at Etsy. The shop is the collaboration of two artists, Camille Villanueva and Vivian S. Chen, who are currently studying Art at UC Los Angeles. Their line of products currently consists of a handful of one-of-a-kind hand-cut cards. I expect that they will eventually diversify and carry other great products. Best wishes to them!

TIWE-d Watch
November 28, 2007

I love watches. And seeing people use their phones as their timepiece is rather disappointing.

This is one of the most innovative designs I’ve seen lately. Designed by Lv Zhongfang is the TIWE-d watch. It’s still in the concept stage but hopefully I’ll be able to add one to my collection someday. The OLEDs move around the face until you shake the watch. The dots will then aligned themselves in the formation of a clock. Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Play In The Rain
November 9, 2007

The umbrella’s diameter is a bit narrow to allow for a funnel to form. The funnel directs water into your squirt gun. So as long as it keeps raining, you can keep playing. The concept was created by Alex Wooley, Graphic Design graduate of Kingston University.

These seriously need to be mass produced. I’m totally waiting for the day I can have a water fight in the rain.

I think it looks weird. But that’s the great thing about it. It’s outlandish but not so much ugly as it is different. I mean you can pay half a million dollars for a car that looks ordinary, but that just seems silly.

This isn’t a concept by Lamborghini, but a design student by the name of Luca Serafini. He’s included a Superleggera version just for fun. It won’t go any faster because these cars aren’t real, but it will include a new set of rims, carbon fiber panels that flank the car and a spoiler.

Well, what do you think? At least, it’s a huge step above Lamboghini’s last design.

Custom 52
October 7, 2007

Card decks are fairly boring things. Same old kings and queens.

Custom 52 has decided to plaster people’s artwork on the belly of the cards. And it’s looking pretty cool. They have just released their first deck entitled “Cycle I”. You can sneak a peek at the full set here. The deck goes for an expensive $18 (shipping included), but it’s more than just any old deck of cards.

If you want your art and name to be seen, maybe try submitting an entry to be printed as a card. Information can be found here.

Kwoon – “I Lived On The Moon”

Most wickedest music video ever! Yannick Puig did the art! The guy’s a genius!

Gez Fry

I forgot how I stumbled across his webpage, but I’m glad I did. His pieces are pretty cool. The one above is actually a commission for one of my favorite shows, Top Gear.

More artwork after the break.

Joy Ang

Joy Ang is a 21-year old Canadian native who studied at the College of Art & Design in Alberta. Her webpage provides the following as her introduction.

“My passion has been art for as long as I can remember. With my art I strive for one main goal, and that is to stir the emotions from those who view it. I admire subtlety and believe that as much can be said through it as exaggeration. I love God, family, and friends, and they are, above all else, the most important things in my life.” – Joy Ang

All I have to say is that the carousel piece absolutely rocks!
