Battlefield Heroes
February 29, 2008

Electronic Arts has developed a new Battlefield game for the masses. It’s completely free to download and to play. Unlike the other installments of the series, this game is focused around being “fun”.

That gets you wondering what EA wanted other Battlefield games to be about? Anyways the game is open for download this summer.

My dear friend has just opened shop over at Etsy. The shop is the collaboration of two artists, Camille Villanueva and Vivian S. Chen, who are currently studying Art at UC Los Angeles. Their line of products currently consists of a handful of one-of-a-kind hand-cut cards. I expect that they will eventually diversify and carry other great products. Best wishes to them!

Quantum Of Solace
February 13, 2008

Everyone thought Casino Royale was a good movie, whereas I just thought of it of a cinematic version of World Championship Poker, but instead of commercials, Bond would leave the table to participate in an action sequence. Nonetheless, I found Daniel Craig to be a very fitting James Bond so I do hope that this script will be a little more than just a time slot filler on ESPN.

This week’s episode of Fifth Gear mentioned that the DBS will be back in Quantum of Solace. It’s faster than the Vantage, but so much uglier. Sigh…

Polaroid Digital Mobile Zero-Ink Photo Printer
February 11, 2008

I’ve been sick for a while now so I haven’t been up to the job of writing lately. Sorry, so here’s what Uncrate had to say about the Polaroid ZINK Zero-Ink Printer:

“With its instant cameras now a thing of the past, Polaroid is moving instant printing technology into the digital age with its Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer . Utilizing ZINK Zero Ink printing technology, this mobile photo printer creates 2″ x 3″ borderless prints instantly, from cameras or camera phones connected via USB or Bluetooth. The printer also houses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for on-the-go use, and its great-looking prints come on sticky-back stock, letting you (and your friends) affix your newly-minted memories to anything you’d like.” – Uncrate

They left out how the technology works. Basically, the color is already embedded in the paper and heat pulses act as the agent to make them visible on the surface. A single photo takes exactly one minute to “print”. And the resulting photo is fade-resistant, smudge-proof, waterproof, and tear-proof. There’s no price available yet. I have yet to find a release date as well. But I’m definitely going to pick up one of these when they are available.

The Forbidden Kingdom
February 11, 2008

Okay, I’m just going to say that I think this film will be well… not so good. I am barely excited to see Jackie Chan brawl with Jet Li and that may just be it. I mean come on! How does a little caucasian boy get so lost as to find himself in China, with a number of English speaking warriors no less.

Regardless, I’ll probably go watch it anyways. I’m such a hypocrite.

[@ 1:20] I can’t say “accuracy” the way Li does. Okay, now I’m just being mean.

Okay, they’re not Oakley in-house HDO lenses and that may scare off any Oakley purist, but I’m willing to throw them a chance just because they carry a line of exciting lens colors for my Juliets that are not made available by Oakley themselves. Among the options for Juliets are Ghost Purple, Magic Potion, +Red, Hyper Green and Liquid Metal. Please check the website for the full list of lens options available for all applicable Oakley sunglasses. They are pretty much in my neighborhood but unfortunately doesn’t do walk-ins so I won’t get a chance to check out the lenses in person before dropping anywhere from $35 to $190 depending on color I want.

I’m just holding off a little because I heard a rumor Oakley is about to release their Spring line including a new X-Metal model, called the Half X.
