Katie Melua – Perfect Circle

“Ketevan ‘Katie’ Melua (Born 16 September 1984) is a British-Georgian singer, songwriter and musician. She was born in the Georgian SSR, but moved to Northern Ireland at the age of eight and then relocated to England at the age of 14. Melua is signed to the small Dramatico record label, under the management of songwriter Mike Batt, and made her musical debut in 2003. In 2006, she was the United Kingdom’s biggest-selling female artist and Europe’s highest selling European female artist.

In November 2003, at the age of 19, Melua released her first album, Call off the Search, which reached the top of the United Kingdom album charts and sold 1.8 million copies in its first five months of release. Her second album, Piece by Piece, was released in September 2005 and to date has gone platinum four times.” – Last.fm

Katie is my other music addiction of the moment, though it may just be this particular song.

Paramore

They’re my favorite artists/band of the moment so I thought it would be nice to share.

“Paramore is an alternative rock band from Franklin, Tennessee. The band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, lead guitarist Josh Farro, bassist Jeremy Davis, and drummer Zac Farro. Paramore released their debut All We Know Is Falling in 2005, an EP entitled The Summer Tic in 2006, and Riot!, their third offering, in 2007. ‘Misery Business’, the first single from Riot!, is currently sitting at #3 on the US Modern Rock Chart. It also peaked at #30 and #34 on the Pop 100 and Hot 100 charts respectively.” – Last.fm

Hayley Williams’s a cutie and her “fire-colored” hair is pretty cool. Let’s not forget that she actually has some singing ability which is more than can be said about many artists out there.

I posted a number of their music videos after the break.

TIWE-d Watch

I love watches. And seeing people use their phones as their timepiece is rather disappointing.

This is one of the most innovative designs I’ve seen lately. Designed by Lv Zhongfang is the TIWE-d watch. It’s still in the concept stage but hopefully I’ll be able to add one to my collection someday. The OLEDs move around the face until you shake the watch. The dots will then aligned themselves in the formation of a clock. Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
November 19, 2007

I just finished the demo and I feel so on-edge right now. I used to think Battlefield 2 was intense when I started playing . I’ve been hearing such rave reviews for Call of Duty 4, I decided I had to give it a try. And it makes every other first-person shooter so tame. I felt like it was more a movie than a game because of the pace. The graphics really made it easy to imagine yourself in such an intense warzone.

I would totally buy it, if my PC could run it smoothly which it can’t. This game is not very friendly to old computers and my computer really isn’t that old. It was top of the line back in 2003 so unless you rock anything worse than a 3.4GHz, 1GB, Nvidia X600 XT, I personally don’t suggest it. Then again, if your digits are more coordinated than mine (which they probably are), then you also have the option of playing it on a PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 assuming you have the console.

You can download the PC demo here.

PPI Audi R8

I don’t have much to say really besides that it really looks good. I guess I’ll just let Autoblog do all the talking:

“Carbon fiber components are used throughout the entire car, including a front lip spoiler, more aggressive front air dam, side sills, rear diffuser, adjustable rear wing, and matte side blades that are all available in the lightweight material. The exterior pieces are fully functional, improving airflow around the car, feeding cool air to the brakes, and deflecting engine heat away from the car. Lightweight MAG9 wheels are composed of a carbon fiber wheel rim and magnesium spokes wrapped with pavement-gripping Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Even more carbon fiber can be found in the interior, including a handbrake, sill plates, instrument panel, and components of the steering wheel.

Power upgrades are available as well, including an optimized engine management, high flow air filter, and a stainless steel exhaust that results in an additional 40 horsepower and 26 lb-ft torque.”

Sounds pretty good to me.

Racer X KC-427
November 17, 2007

With the whole lot of automotive “remakes” going on lately, I’ve dreamed that someone would revamp the AC Cobra. I’ve even taken it upon myself to do the sketches, but they all turn out to look like rubbish. Fortunately, there are better artists out there than me. One of them is Reuben Zammit, head of design at Racer X. The design for their KC-427 takes the lines from a classic AC Cobra and not much else. I’ve been staring at it for the last ten minutes and I must say, I really do love it. The recessed tail lamps, the obnoxious side grille, the enormous wheels–I just love it.

It’s powered by a huge seven-liter V-8 so don’t expect to see it on Al Gore’s driveway. Well, when I say it’s powered by a huge seven-liter V-8, I mean it will be…hopefully. Racer X is aiming to have a concept out in a year and maybe down the line, produce a run of twenty cars. Twenty! It’s going to be rarer than that new insane Lamborghini Reventon! Not much else is known about the car’s performance so for me it’s just left to my imagination. And I’m imagining it will be absolutely phenomenal and will somehow end up in my garage.

This is another game that looks incredible! Like Uncharted, it is also coming out this Wednesday. PlayStation 3 owners will have a nice selection of new games to play.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

The demo on PSN was spectacular. I have no doubt that this is going to be a fun game. The story looks intriguing and the gameplay is challenging yet intuitive. I’ll be buying this when I have the money. It hits shelves this Wednesday.
