It’s a clever name for a clever product. The latest cameras are more and more commonly seen with built-in Wi-Fi features. But those of us who can’t afford to buy the latest toys are left with the inconvenience of plugging in and uploading our photos. Wires irritate me. So when I can, I opt for the wireless solution.

This is the Eye-fi. It allows your SD camera to wirelessly upload your photos onto your computer or straight onto your preferred online hosting service. It costs an even hundred dollars and I’d say it’s worth it. Unfortunately, my Nikon only accepts a Compact Flash card. Conversion adapters have been known to work, though it is not a supported application. My correspondent tells me that a Compact Flash version is in the works. So, I’ll hold out until then.

“When art student Ben Willis is dumped by his girlfriend Suzy, he develops insomnia. To pass the long hours of the night, he starts working the late night shift at the local supermarket. There he meets a colorful cast of characters, all of whom have their own ‘art’ in dealing with the boredom of an eight-hour-shift. Ben’s art is that he imagines himself stopping time. This way, he can appreciate the artistic beauty of the frozen world and the people inside it – especially Sharon, the quiet checkout girl, who perhaps holds the answer to solving the problem of Ben’s insomnia.”

Cashback is a beautiful film. I highly recommend it.

Long Live Leopard!

Sorry. Being such a Mac dork, I just need to post this.

Pinkberry expands!
October 24, 2007

Ah, I love that tarty frozen yogurt top with a pile of Kiwi bits though the one in the background covered in Captain Crunch looks awfully good too.

Great news for folks outside of the Los Angeles and New York City areas. Pinkberry’s expanding! And the Starbucks chairman has a hand in this so I’m expecting a lot of franchises. As there’s one in my neighborhood, I’ll be happy.

Top Gear Meets Gran Turismo!
October 24, 2007

And no I don’t mean the segment where Jeremy Clarkson goes round Laguna Seca in his living room.

This is far better: Gran Turismo 5 will feature the Top Gear track! Now you can pretend to be the Stig and take on the Follow Through, Chicago, Hammerhead and Gambond. No news on whether the Suzuki Liana or the Chevrolet Lacetti will be included in the game.

And that’s not it– GT TV will feature downloadable Top Gear clips along with clips from other great automotive programs and events such as the D1 Grand Prix, Super GT and Best Motoring.

Top Gear, S10E02
October 15, 2007

The second episode of Top Gear is out and unlike the first one, it’s actually funny.  The highlights includes a feature on the new Audi R8 and a hilarious attempt to cross the English Channel in their homemade amphibious vehicles.

If you know how to use BitTorrent, you can download it here. Otherwise, hope that someone will upload it onto YouTube. It’ll be two weeks until the next episodes airs.

GT5 Prologue Demo
October 13, 2007

A playable demo of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue hits PlayStation Network on October 24th! Yay!

October 24th just so happens to be the day that the Tokyo Motor Show starts. I’m sure this is not a coincidence.

Seven of the most anticipated vehicles will be available to drive in the demo.

2008 BMW 135i
Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept
2008 Lexus IS-F
2008 Mazda 6
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
2008 Nissan GT-R
2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Only one track will be available: Suzuka.

Check out the resemblance to my current layout. :]

Update: Okay, so I was totally wrong about the date of release, but the demo is available on Japan’s PSN, so go download it.
