Filoli Gardens

My family and I went to visit the Filoli Gardens earlier this week. It’s located about thirty miles south of San Francisco in Woodside, California.

“The name of the estate is an acronym formed by combining the first two letters from the key words of William Bourn’s credo: “Fight for a just cause; Love your fellow man; Live a good life.” – Wikipedia

The property was once home to one William Bourn II and his family. The deed was then sold to William Roth. When Roth had passed away his wife donated the estate to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The beautiful gardens surrounds their ridiculous mansion which is open to view as well. The visit proved to be a wonderful photo opportunity and a lovely Sunday getaway.

  1. gorgeous photograph! may i have a print? :)

  2. The truth is that there is no evidence that the Bourns or Roths had any good cause except living the good life. You should have said that in your entry. I did on my blog.
